CoPilot Privacy Notice

Introduction

8DC Research, LLC ("Company" or "We") respect your privacy. This privacy notice describes:

• The types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you create a subscription account or purchase, download, install, register with, access, or use the CoPilot App (the "App"); and
• Our policy and practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This notice applies only to information we collect through our Company website (www.copilot8dc.com), through the App and to communications you have with us, either sent through our website, the App or by email.  This notice does not apply to information that we collect offline or that you provide to or is collected by any third party (see Third-Party Information Collection).  Such other third parties may have their own privacy notices, which we encourage you to read before providing information to them.

Information We Collect and How We Collect It

We and our service providers collect information from and about you when you provide it to us and automatically when you use our website or the App (collectively, the “CoPilot Services”).

Information You Provide to Us

When you download, register with, or use the CoPilot Services we (or our service provider, including our payments processor) may ask you to provide information:

• By which you may be personally identified, such as name, user name, password, email address and payment information, including credit card information (collectively, "personal information"); and
• That is about you but individually does not identify you, such as CoPilot Services usage information that helps maintain the quality and safety of CoPilot Services.

This information includes:

• Information that you provide, such as information you share at the time of subscribing for CoPilot Services and information you provide if you use any App interactive features;  
• Information that you provide if you participate in a survey, enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us, and when you report a problem with the App or make other CoPilot Services customer service requests;
• Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses and phone numbers), if you contact us;
• Transaction information for subscriptions and of the fulfillment of your CoPilot Services orders; and
• Your search queries on the App.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies  

When you access the CoPilot Services, we may use technology to automatically collect:

• Certain details of your access to and use of the CoPilot Services, including traffic data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the CoPilot Services; and
• Information about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device's unique device identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type, and mobile network information.

The information we collect automatically is only statistical data and does not include personal information, but we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we or our service providers collect. It helps us improve the CoPilot Services and deliver a better service, including by enabling us to estimate our audience size, store information about your preferences and recognize when you return to access the CoPilot Services.

If you do not want us to collect this information, do not visit our website and do not download the App.  You may also opt out of certain data collection as described below (see Your Choices About Our Collection, Use and Disclosure of Your Information).

The technologies we use for automatic information collection may include:

• Cookies (or mobile cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on your computer or smartphone. It may be possible to refuse to accept cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser or smartphone. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain features of the CoPilot Services.
• Web Beacons. Pages of the App, our emails and our website may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related analytics statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain content and verifying system and server integrity).

Third-Party Information Collection

When you use the App or its content, certain third parties may use automatic information collection technologies to collect information about you or your device. These third parties may include the app store or platform associated with the App and your mobile service provider.

Our website is served by third-parties, including advertisers and analytics providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our website. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

We do not control these third parties' technologies or how they may be used. We do not sell your information.

How We Use Your Information

We and our service providers use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information, to:

• Provide you with the CoPilot Services, and any other information, products, or services that you request from us;
• Allow you to participate in interactive features on our website and access or change your subscription account settings;
• Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;
• Give you notices about your subscription, including expiration and renewal notices;
• Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection; and
• Notify you when App updates are available, and of changes to any products or services we offer or provide.

We may also use your information to contact you about our own goods and services that may be of  interest to you. If you do not want us to use your information in this way, please check the relevant box located on the form on which we collect your data or adjust your user preferences in your account profile. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide:

• To our subsidiaries and affiliates;
• To our contractors and service providers we use to support our business (such as subscription payment processing);
• Our professional advisors, such as lawyers and insurers in the course of the professional services that they render to us;
• To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of the Company’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by the Company about our App users is among the assets transferred;
• To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it;
• For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information;
• With your consent;
• To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;
• To enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including our Terms of Service and for billing and collection; and
• If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company or its affiliates, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Your Choices About Our Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Your Information

This section describes mechanisms we provide for you to control certain uses and disclosures of over your information.

• Tracking Technologies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies or block the use of other tracking technologies, some parts of the CoPilot Services may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
• Promotion by the Company. If you do not wish to have your email address used by the Company to promote our own products or services, you can opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the form on which we collect your data or at any other time by logging into your subscription account on our website and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions. This opt out does not apply to information provided to the Company as a result of a product purchase, warranty registration, product service experience or other transactions.

Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information

You can review or change your personal information or delete your subscription account by visiting your subscription account profile page.  

You may also send us an email at hello@copilot8dc.com to correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your subscription account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect. 

Data Security

We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard your personal information and the integrity and security of our databases. We have procedures in place for the disposal and protection against unauthorized access or use of your information. Except as described above, access to non-public personal information is restricted to our personnel who need to know such information. If we disclose your personal information, it is made available for limited purposes and under controlled circumstances.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to your subscription account and the App, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through the CoPilot Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide.

Children

The CoPilot Services are not directed to and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 16 without parental or guardian consent.  If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information during the period you have a subscription account and for as long as is otherwise permitted by applicable law, necessary to resolve disputes, or necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you by email to the email address specified in your subscription account or through a notice on the App home page and/or our website.
